The Indonesian company Evoware has also developed 100% biodegradable edible packaging that dissolves in hot water. These green manufacturing packages achieve the characteristics of no additives and rapid decomposition, fully demonstrating the advantages of plant fiber products.

Green Manufacturing: Edible Water
Although edible packaging and utensils are excellent for the environment, they still face some challenges. The first is high cost; Marufuku Confectionery revealed that the price of edible utensils is 10 times that of plastic utensils. Secondly, their scope of application is limited; products like Ooho are not very suitable for replacing plastic bottles. Furthermore, taste and texture are also a major challenge. Despite these obstacles, edible food packaging is making strides forward, with plant fiber products becoming a key breakthrough.
